We are happy to inform you that the ISAJ is going to organize the 8th Annual Symposium entitled "Bridging Nature and Technology" to be held on December 6th, 2017 (Wednesday) at the Hongo Campus of University of Tokyo (Auditorium, 5F, Chemistry Main Building, Dept. of Chemistry). The focus of this year's symposium will be to reflect on and critically assess how various disciplines of science and technology are integrating the knowledge from nature and environment to innovate and develop latest technologies. The popular concept of Bio-Mimicry will be dealt through presentations and posters to help understand the scope and limitation in this arena of science and technology.
This symposium will continue the tradition of organizing sessions around dedicated topics having plenary and poster sessions. There will be plenary and invited talks by scientists of repute from various Japanese research institutes and universities along with a dedicated oral session for the young researchers (postdoctoral and young faculty). We are also going to provide adequate time for the poster session.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we invite abstracts for short oral and poster presentations on any disciplines of science and technology. The deadline for submission of the abstract is November 10th, 2017 (Friday). Abstracts for consideration for oral presentations or poster presentations can be submitted by scanning the QR code from the symposium flyer as well as by e-mail to isajtokyo2017@gmail.com. Authors will be notified of acceptance of abstracts by November 20th, 2017 (Monday), including the presentation type it has been accepted for. Please click the link below to submit the abstract files (both PDF and Word format). Find the sample abstract file attached at the end of this page.
The registration fee: 3,000 yen (Students: 1,000 yen) will be collected from all participants in cash at the symposium reception desk. Please note that all the abstract authors (presenters) must be registered and pay the registration fee.
Please invite your friends and colleagues (Indian, Japanese, and any other nationality) to submit their abstracts and participate in the symposium. Please also feel free to blog, tweet, forward, or otherwise, share this event with anyone you think would be interested.
