We are happy to inform you that the ISAJ is going to organize the 8th Annual Symposium entitled "Bridging Nature and Technology" to be held on December 6th, 2017 (Wednesday) at the Hongo Campus of University of Tokyo (Auditorium, 5F, Chemistry Main Building, Dept. of Chemistry). The focus of this year's symposium will be to reflect on and critically assess how various disciplines of science and technology are integrating the knowledge from nature and environment to innovate and develop latest technologies. The popular concept of Bio-Mimicry will be dealt through presentations and posters to help understand the scope and limitation in this arena of science and technology.

This symposium will continue the tradition of organizing sessions around dedicated topics having plenary and poster sessions. There will be plenary and invited talks by scientists of repute from various Japanese research institutes and universities along with a dedicated oral session for the young researchers (postdoctoral and young faculty). We are also going to provide adequate time for the poster session.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we invite abstracts for short oral and poster presentations on any disciplines of science and technology. The deadline for submission of the abstract is November 10th, 2017 (Friday). Abstracts for consideration for oral presentations or poster presentations can be submitted by scanning the QR code from the symposium flyer as well as by e-mail to Authors will be notified of acceptance of abstracts by November 20th, 2017 (Monday), including the presentation type it has been accepted for. Please click the link below to submit the abstract files (both PDF and Word format). Find the sample abstract file attached at the end of this page. 

The registration fee: 3,000 yen (Students: 1,000 yen) will be collected from all participants in cash at the symposium reception desk. Please note that all the abstract authors (presenters) must be registered and pay the registration fee.

Please invite your friends and colleagues (Indian, Japanese, and any other nationality) to submit their abstracts and participate in the symposium. Please also feel free to blog, tweet, forward, or otherwise, share this event with anyone you think would be interested.

The Indian Scientists Association in Japan (ISAJ) is going to organize  6th  Symposium on December 4, 2015, at the Indian Embassy Auditorium, Tokyo. ISAJ Symposium is an annual interdisciplinary symposium organized by the Indian Scientists Association in Japan (ISAJ). It provides an opportunity for young and established researchers to showcase their research, discuss ideas and foster collaborations. 

Rapid advances in health, materials, earth and environment sciences and emerging areas of nano-technology have enabled us to deal with new challenges to sustain healthy society and environment. The theme/objective of this symposium is to promote multidisciplinary/trans-d

isciplinary researches to address the societal needs including healthcare and a stressed environment through smarter materials, technologies and strategies and a best combination of multidisciplinary sciences.

ISAJ is a forum of Indian Scientists in Japan registered as an NPO with a vision to strengthen India-Japan collaborations in the field of Science and Technology. India-Japan Symposium organized by ISAJ provides a platform for both senior and young Indian researchers and their Japanese counterparts and other colleagues to share state-of-the-art information in their respective fields. 

There will be a registration fee of Yen 3,000 to cover for lunch and tea/coffee. Students are exempted!
