The ISAJ Annual Symposium is an interdisciplinary symposium encompassing all areas of science and technology, organized by the ISAJ. This year it will be the 12th annual event.
To celebrate the first year of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). we will begin on the first day afternoon with the inaugural session followed by a plenary session dealing exclusively with the themes related to ocean science and technology. We will have the full second day for interdisciplinary sessions (as in previous years) encompassing all fields of science and technology, and this will include plenary and invited talks.
A major objective of the symposium is to create an opportunity for students and young scientists in Japan, irrespective of nationality, to showcase their research, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations, through face-to-face presentations (Oral, Poster, and Online presentations). The hybrid format will offer the opportunity to make presentations before a larger audience. ISAJ invites abstracts for poster and oral presentations in all disciplines of S&T.
Sessions will be designed around dedicated topics. Besides keynote and plenary talks by eminent scientists and researchers from both Japan and India, oral presentations and thesis challenge for student participants will also be organized.
The scope of the symposium
All fields of science and technology, including, but not limited to:
●Ocean Science, technology, and innovations
● Environmental Issues ●Sustainability/SDGs ●Basic Sciences ●Material Sciences
●Life Sciences ● Public Health and Wellbeing ●Plasma Sciences ●Cutting-edge Technologies

The ISAJ Symposium aims to bridge India and Japan's researchers/scientists by bringing them together to showcase their research achievements, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations, mutually beneficial to both the countries. ISAJ has been organizing this interdisciplinary symposium annually for the past ten years to provide a platform for Indian academicians, researchers, and students based in Japan to showcase their latest scientific achievements together with their colleagues in Japan. Renowned experts in different science and technology fields share their knowledge and experience in plenary and invited talks.
This year the ongoing global pandemic "COVID-19" has come as a shock to the society, health system, economic activities, and government policies worldwide, posing new issues and challenges. The symposium will devote a special interest session to understanding the role of science, technology, and engineering to address "New Issues and Challenges" created by COVID-19.
The symposium will enable scientists to reflect on how various science, engineering, and technology disciplines can be better integrated towards creating innovative solutions to help tackle this current challenge and be better positioned to solve future issues through the latest innovations.
Sessions will be designed around dedicated topics. Besides keynote and plenary talks by eminent scientists and researchers from both Japan and India, oral presentations and thesis challenge for student participants will also be organized.

We are pleased to inform you that Indian Scientists Association in Japan (ISAJ) is going to organize its 10thannual symposium entitled “Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Innovations for Sustainable Society” on December 9th, 2019 (Monday) at the Osaka University Hall in Toyonaka campus of Osaka University.
Symposium will commemorate 10thAnniversary of ISAJ. Ever since its establishment in 2009, ISAJ has been proactively building bridges between Indian and Japanese researchers by bringing them together and encouraging them to undertake collaborative research projects mutually beneficial to both the countries. Towards these objectives, ISAJ has been organizing an interdisciplinary symposium annually to provide a platform for academicians, researchers, and students based in Japan to showcase their latest scientific achievements.
The theme of this year symposium is Science and Technology Innovations for Sustainable Society. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set and adopted by all United Nations members in the year 2015 requires effective use of science, technology, and innovation. Global sustainability challenges are complex and involve multiple interdependent issues such as climate change, environmental degradation, energy security, and resource depletion. Increasingly, policy-makers in government and industry are looking to science and technology innovation to provide the solutions for the sustainable economic development of society.
Symposium will enable the scientists to reflect on how different disciplines of science, engineering, and technology can be better integrated towards creating innovative solutions to the sustainability challenges. You are cordially invited to participate in the symposium.
Sessions will be designed around dedicated topics and will include keynote and plenary talks by eminent scientists and researchers. There will also be oral and poster presentations by the participants.
Deadline for abstract submissions: November 22nd, 2019 (Closed!!)
